Building a Better Future with Together We Rise

At Zipcar, we believe in mobility for all ages. We support a multi-modal lifestyle that goes beyond just cars. Zipcar is a piece of the transportation puzzle that is made up of trains, scooters, bikes — you name it! Everyone deserves access to wheels.  

As we kick off our 20th anniversary in the mobility space, Zipsters across the country supported Together We Rise, a national nonprofit dedicated to transforming how youth navigate the foster care system in America. 

One way Together We Rise supports foster children is by providing bicycles and skateboards to those who don’t have access to another form of transportation or who have never had a bike or skateboard of their own. Life in the foster care system is not always easy, and Together We Rise is focused on improving the quality of life for foster youth. Other initiatives like “Birthday Boxes” and “Build a Board” help to bring normalcy and light into the foster journey.  

Some friendly competition was involved — Zipsters in seven of our offices across the country were broken into groups and challenged to build the perfect bike the fastest. While the winning team got bragging rights for their speedy bike construction, the real prize was having a hand in providing 33 new bikes (and helmets) to the kids who need them most in our communities.
